Welcome to my About me page. My name is Darren Miller Hadden, I am the Owner of Antique Hadden, A Website dedicated to Early oak and period Country furniture and other artefacts. My passion for early Period furniture began 20yrs ago when I bought my first item - a 17th century carved Oak Bible box which I purchased from a local Auction room. I took it home and waxed it, and from then on I was smitten, so Antique Hadden was born.
I have dedicated those 20yrs to searching Auction rooms, Antique fairs, Markets,Shops and most importantly house calls for Oak artefacts from the 16th,17th and 18th century. I have found important pieces of Period furniture in the most unlikely of places.
If I am not out and about, I have normally got my head in a book about Period funiture. I pride myself on both my Knowledge and understanding but always find there is more to learn.
The pieces offered here have been personally chosen for their authenticity, integrity, originality, and wonderful patina which only comes through age. Some of the pieces might still have the original paint, but the one thing they will all have in common is honesty and charm (including their bruises).
My collection of early oak chests and boxes from carved Gothic, to plain Primitive - Chairs,stools and tables from the 17th and 18th century, have all been personally chosen and researched, and only then will I offer them for sale.
My passion extends to all artefacts of the 16th to 18th Century, so you will also find a very diverse selection of items in the coming weeks, to include, primitive furniture, Iron work, early carvings and panels, so please be sure to bookmark my site, as we shall be updating our stock regularly.
