A 17th Century Joined Oak Wainscot Chair

This Example which has an inlaid lozenge to the back panel and also to the arms in boxwood and holly.

The crest rail with two circular swirls to the center and flanking left and right similar to welsh examples with the bullseye motif.

Original boarded seat over turned front legs with wide back stiles united by a box stretcher.

Good colour and patina a good country example.

The two end swirls have been been realigned at some stage with the left hand side a replacement and the left hand leg has been repaired at some stage.

A good chair that i presume is a ladies chair as it is mid size but also with a chunky presence.

23" Wide

16" Deep

14.5 "High to Seat

39" High to back.
