A 17th Century Country Oak Box Settle.

A lovely piece of country oak, this settle is of small proportions but deceptively looks large ,the five panel back over a single plank lift up seat with storage below, the front consists of three panels and single panel sides, the right hand arm has had a lot more wear than the left which is the little quirk that only comes with country furniture.
Like all good country furniture this piece has had a lot of use and it shows with the odd split panel and its lower at the back than the front and the base is replaced well with period boards.
But all that aside it is a solid usable piece with a good dirty colour that will fit into a country house and look like it has always been there.
