Circa 1640

A fine and rare low stool of joined construction with a broad thumb moulded edge and plain rails with a single moulded lower edge.

The baluster turned legs are united by plain stretchers all round.

Great colour and surface,it leans a little as one side is slightly smaller.

Low joined stools are constructed in exactly the same way as joint stools and are often called childs stools but they are more likely to be foot stools or step up stools which may explain why they are not seen as often as regular joynt stools.
