An Impressive 15th Century Carved Stone Angel.

French Circa 1400-1450.

Depicted wearing a dalmatic in a kneeling position while holding what may have been rope or a banner which is sadly now gone .

The face with bulbous eyes and wavy bob hair cut,a loss to the nose showing evidence of turbulent times in its past .

Faint traces of blue polychrome to the dalmatic which would state an internal piece and the simple detail to the wings makes me feel it would have been up high as the visual impact is when viewed head on.

Overall in very good condition .
