A 15th Century Iron Bound Minnekastchen.

German Circa 1480-1510

This rare little casket is constructed from beech with an oak faceted lid with ornate hinges .

In original condition with a dry untouched surface showing slight traces of red polychrome.

A similar box which i had the pleasure of handling is in my archive page 43 and another sold at Bonhams 20th September 2017 lot 90 for £4375.
