A 17th Century Embossed Brass Baptismal Bowl.

This wonderful bowl which is embossed with the four Evangelists represented with their attributes: the Angel for Saint Matthew, the Lion for Saint Mark, the Ox for Saint Luke and the Eagle for Saint John. 

This bowl was sold to me as a travelling baptismal bowl and is in good order with no holes or dents only a few verdigris blisters next to one handle.

It has a lovely natural colour that has managed to avoid the yearly polish that a lot of these unfortunately have.
