A George III Welsh Coffor Bach.

Gower peninsular Circa 1750.

The hinged lid with a moulded edge above a relief carved front, decorated with stylised urns of flowers above a dummy drawer with twin panels of birds flanking a rosette, on flat bun feet.

This chest comes from a known group of documented chests from the Gower region of Wales and for further Literature see Regional Furniture, vol. VI, 1992, 'The Gower Coffor Bach' by Philip M. Havard.
