16th Century Polychrome Figure Depicting St Apollonia

Martyr of St.Apollonia group in carved oak painted in polychrome representing the Apolline standing in front of a stake,her arms tied and two executioners one to each side that would have been holding the pliers to pull her teeth.

Saint Apollonia is the Patron Saint Of Dentists.

In good order and now standing on a later oak base she is presented in original untouched condition with a dry surface with flakey polychrome,although in pain all figures seem quite joyous .
