Sorry Sold.

A Fabulous 18th Century Welsh Primitive Chair.

What a stunner this chair is with its unusual three plank back, the center plank sits higher than the flanking panels which are slightly curved inwards to form wings or protection from  draughts over a solid plank seat, the curved arms supported by single hand shaved spindles sitting on Three hand shaved legs.

In very good condition with an amazing colour and surface with heavy traces of red paint.
Richard Bebb Welsh Furniture 1250-1950 book two page 52:697  shows a corner chair with a similar plank back that he describes as from Merioneth region, also Robert Young has a similar chair but with four legs in his book Folk Art page 155.
