A 16th Century Panel Depicting A Lion Rampant.

French Circa 1520

This wonderful chunky panel depicts a rampant lion with his tongue protruding delicate scrolled mane and his tail curled up high ,with a gothic leaf and vine trailing from his back leg.

A chunky panel with the lion coming out of the panel taking dominance next to the vine.

A good dark colour with small insect damage to the top of his mouth and rear foot.

Traces of old wax but untouched by me so it will arrive with dust in the crevices leaving a natural skin and dry edges,but if one would like it to shine then a cloth and a good rub would do the trick.
