A 17th Century Carved Oak Figure Of Christ.

This wonderful carved oak figure of large proportions depicts part of the passion with Christ wearing the crown of thorns and hands tied.

A very sculptural depiction carved by a master as proportion is very accurate.

A pleasing dark colour with a nice surface.

The back hollowed out (thankfully as he is rather heavy) showing signs of old beetle damage in the sap wood and a splice has been added to the base where it had cracked at some stage .

An impressive moody statement piece.
