A 17th Century Carved Oak Bible Box.

Constructed with thick timber with a deep color.

The front is carved with a pair of wyverns or Amphipteres flanking the lock plate carved in a passive style with bird like wings and soft features.

The single plank lid over plain sides .

A pen tray is still in situ inside and the lid has been braced.

A lovely deep color and surface retaining its original hasp and lockplate the hinges are period replacements.
