A 17th Century Carved Oak Bible Box.

Constructed with thin timber with a mellow color.

The front is carved with a twin guilloche centered with a single flower head flanking both sides of the lock plate.

The single plank lid has a scratch-carved border.

The lovely mellow color retaining its original hinges and hasp the lockplate is a period replacement of correct proportions.
