An 18th Century Shawl Back Stick Chair.

West Country

Sculptural primitive "shawl-back" chair, retaining nearly all of its historically painted surface. Of dynamic shape and superb wide proportions this chair just wants to hug you. The seat and inside of the arms have a natural toffee colour and shine with the top of the sticks rounded off through wear while the back and sides are oozing with blistered black/Green paint with a sky blue undercoat creeping through.

In good order throughout and has a slight loss in height over the years.

A cracking chair.
