A 19th Century Carved And Polychrome Pine Tudor Rose.

A wonderfully dry and crusty carved pine Tudor rose, Polychromed in red, green, and gold with a bronze hanging chain that has now become a lovely green verdigris.
The rose is the national flower of England and it was adopted as England's emblem during the Wars of the Roses (1455-1485). The white rose of York is at the center of the flower, and the red rose of Lancaster is part of the design as the outside edging. The design symbolized unity and mutual regard.

I have no idea what this is originally from maybe a tea room, maybe a house sign but wherever it came from it has been hanging for a long time to have acquired this flaky surface.

It's the perfect item to hang in a Tudor house or for the avid Tudor fan.
