A Pair Of Elizabethan Carved Oak Caryatids.

English circa 1580

This characterful pair of bearded men are finely carved with the classic topped tobacco leaf to their head depicted stroking their comical beards with one hand while the other rests under the opposing elbow.

The carving is extremely high end with small details that can only be admired up close such as necklaces and the individual hairs in their beards.

Colour and patina is just pefect with a fresh conker skin to them.

One has a small infill above the shoulder (please see image).
