A Fine Jacobean Carved Oak Bible Box.

English Circa 1600-1610

A fine box which is of narrow proportions ,constructed from riven timber plain sides and the front with nulling design.

A very good colour and patina ,the hinges have been changed from wire to strap hinges and i would say this was done in the first 100 yrs of its construction as the oxidation of the iron nails in the lid and back takes time to look this good ,original lock and replaced period hasp.
