A 16th Century Carved Oak Corbel Of a King Louis VII

The front carved with the head of King Louis VII in a primitive style the sides with a single Fleur-De-lis and grapes to each corner of the base .

This corbel still retains the part that was not to be seen ,which to me is very interesting and a joy that it has not been cut off.  The top section with its mortice and peg holes to the front and cut outs to the side showing how it would have originally been fixed as part of the frame to a half timbered house.

Good solid condition with a light french colour.

21.5" (55 cm) High

8" (20 cm) Wide
