A Rare 16th century Oak Alms Box

English Circa 1540

This Tudor oak box of small size is of a simple construction of nailed  boards with a simple double line moulding ,strap hinges and three locks.

In untouched condition with a natural bleached colour and raised medullary rays.

9.5" Wide

8" High

8" Deep.

Provenance:
Hadzor Parish church, Worcestershire, removed during renovations in the 1920s. Purchased by William Stokes in 1954 from Baer of Hereford.
