A 17th Century Joined Oak Chest East Devon.

Circa 1670 -1680

Joined oak chest, from the workshop of Thomas Dennis, the front carved with three botanical carved panels flanked by S-scroll and double S-scroll stiles, the lower rail with scrolling wave decoration and spandrels below. The top frieze rail carved with leafy foliage with original escutcheon. A very fine example to come to the market. 

In good condition and colour and still retaining its full height and snipe hinges.The lid has been cut level at the sides and hinged in the middle due to its weight.
