Henry VIII Period Oak Chest.

This delightful little chest was constructed in the early 16th century .

The front and sides are carved with linenfold panels all with a cruciform design to the center of the folds,the top which is only 75% original is two planks with an applied moulded edge ,one of which has been replaced also the hinges and lockplate are period replacements.

Although the lid is restored this chest has a good presence and early chests are becoming very hard to find in original condition especially English and of this size.
