A Pair Of Tudor Linenfold Panels.

This pair of  English 16th century panels are by repute from The Palace Of Westminster.Removed from the palace after bomb dammage WW2 .

Panneling was purchased by Conservative MP Robert Cooke who was restoring Athelhampton House in Dorset and these two along with a door of eight panels were sold in the 80's from the outbuildings of Athelhampton house at auction surplus to requirements.

They are in a dry untouched condition with cracks and losses  but are firm enough to display.

If items could tell there story ,just imagine what these panels have witnessed ,the power of Henry VIII,Elizabeth refusual to marry ,The wrath of Cromwell ,the beheading of Charles I the stories are endless
