A 17th Century Thomas Dennis Chest.

This joined oak chest is elaborately carved with a three panel front with botanical motifs and numerous other structural and ornamental traits comparable to the documented practices of the Dennis workshop based at Ottery St Mary Exeter.

The centre panels with the initials W.E and on the back a depository label from Exmouth.

This chest is one of the finest from this group of chests to come to the market still retaining its original spandrels and beading to the front of the lid.Dimensions are

51.5" wide

22.5" Deep

33" High

At some stage the sides where converted to doors and have now been fixed back as solid panels and the hinges are old replacements.
