A Late 16th Century Oak Board Chest.

A sweet little chest of six plank construction in country condition.

An honest chest with its original iron work although the hinges have snapped on the lid and been reattached along time ago and the front of the hasp is now unfortunately missing but the crusty surface where oily hands have touched it are there the whole lid has a nice skin and oxidisation around the ironwork.

Standing with a slight wobble and a smile to the corner of the bleached lid this lovely little chest is country life at its best.
