A Late 16th Century Oak Chest Of Hybrid Construction.

This English chest circa 1580-1600 is a transition from the boarded six plank to a chest of joined construction.

The front of joined construction with four recessed plain panels attached to a boarded carcase,the sides with a late cusped Gothic arch under a single plank top with applied moulded edge.

The interior still has its original till and lid the ironwork is later.

A good colour and patina.
