A deeply moving Corpus Christi in carved oak with traces of polychrome . Head facing forward slightly tilted to the right, eyes looking downwards ,strong definition of rib cage with wound to right abdomen, arms raised just above horizontal showing contorted muscles in forearms,swathed in a
perizonium ,skinny legs and oversized feet.

I like the proportions ,his face is not in agony ,his beard is very neat ,his crown of thorns is oversized and almost rope like i particularly love his oversized foot and that the center knot of the timber has been specifically chosen to be positioned where his heart would be, so in my opinion the artist was showing that the heart of the Lord was the heart of all things

In very good condition ,his left arm is an old replacement done to a very high standard and both slot in tight .

Great colour and patina and a good size that can be displayed well.
