A Lovely 17th Century Carved Oak Bible Box.

This lovely box from Devon which is presented with a dry colour showing faint traces of polychrome to the front and initialled A.C to the lid.

The front carved with flower heads and foliage with plain sides .

In good condition the lockplate is associated and there is a small filler patch to the corner of one side,at some stage it has been lined with green felt that has been removed leaving the residue behind.

A nice dry colour with a natural patina with a bold front.
