A Medieval Carved Stone Grotesque.

Carved depicting a Lammas figure (loaf mass) or a harvester which is a rare subject as most figures of this period represented Saints not everyday people.

He is carved in the round wearing his coat and floppy hat covery his curly hair with a grimace to his face.

As with most medieval stone he has been beat over the years he has been reattached at his waist ,missing his arms one which would have held a crop of wheat the other holding the brim of his hat.

Carved as one of the four seasons he was depicting summer and a celebration to the harvest .
