An Extremely Decorative 18th Century Heraldic Lion

On a grand scale this heraldic lion would have Flanked the left hand side of a royal Armorial

Constructed in plaster with a wooden frame and gesso and now mounted on a white painted stand.

As one would expect he shows signs of age with cracks to the gesso his tail is loose and he has lost one front leg but wow what an animal.
