A Very Rare 15th Century Gothic Settle.

French Circa 1480

This box settle is exquisite the front with the lockplate flanked by two single parchemin panels with three tracery panels to the back and a pierced tracery top freize ,the sides with a single parchemin panel the seat a single plank.

In very good solid condition with heavy traces of blue and gold polychrome all over, there are a few historic repairs to the back as one would expect with such an item,the back still has the numbers in Roman Numerals etched in to ease construction.

A absolute rarity and an item of furniture that is usually only seen in books and in museums.
