A Rare Elizabethan Childs Boarded Oak Chest.

English Circa 1600.

This is an exciting discovery ,this child's board chest still retains 80% of its original Yellow paint which is extremely rare to find and it has been in the same area (possibly family) since at least 1889 as i purchased it in Chichester and it is lined with The West Sussex Times dated Saturday February 9th 1889 and this was distributed in the area .

Constructed of six thin boards with simple V cut outs and a simple punchwork design to the lid.

Later snipe hinges and the internal lock is missing ,such a sweet little chest with a tactile surface.

25" (64cm) Wide

16" (41cm) High

11" (28cm) Deep
