An 17th Century Carved Stone Lion.

Carved from stone this lion is lying down in an elongated position with skinny front legs stretched out his face looking forward with actual teeth showing ,his expression almost that of a bear or dog and with traces of polychrome to his mane and eyes.

An internal piece that probably came from the foot of a tomb a guardian for the deceased.

In good condition ,his front and left rear legs have been repaired/replaced he has a nice patina and displays very well.
