A 17th Century Ash Dug Out Mortar.

Of impressive proportions this dug out Mortar was purchased from Ashcombe House in Dorset and is alleged to have originated from Forde Abbey.

Good colour and burr grain the top has two 19th century iron bands to prevent it from splitting.
