A 17th Century Carved Oak Boarded Chest.

The carcass is of board construction carved with a row of bullseyes between cusped arches with a nulled frieze above ,the lid is of joined construction with three plain panels.

This is an early form of chest as the front and back boards overhang the sides ,it has seen a lot of use and shows the aches and pains of this with splits to the panel lid and the bottom right hand corner has been replaced along with the hinges.

All that aside it is a characterful chest with country charm.
