An Early 17th Century Boarded Oak Chest

This charming chest has a wonderful colour and patina and is wrapped in a country fashion with twists in the wood.

Simple six plank construction the sides with a slight cusped cut out standing at near full height,all but one side (right hand side rear) have an almost castellated chip carved edge.

One hinge has been replaced with a period chunky one and the hasp is also a period replacement.

A good country example of small size .
