A Rare Welsh Enclosed Chair.

A rare form of chair being wide and high to the back but seated low to the ground.

The back with a single fielded panel stamped RD over a panel carved with a bordered lozenge a bullseye cross to the centre and single bullseye to each corner over a plank seat with single panel enclosed arms turned front legs united by a box stretcher. 

From the Monmouth region showing the bullseye design typical to the region.

A good solid chair with a great colour and patina , rear plank to the seat is a period replacement and the front stretcher is associated..
