Two 19th Century Carved Walnut Lions.

A pair of outstanding lions carved in walnut although not an identicle pair they are carved from the same hand and from a larger set.

One carved in the classic Landseer style standing sajent with his left paw resting on a cartouched shield and the other in a 17th century style with a cub between its legs .

Standing on square plinth bases i do not know if these where newel posts or just decorative sculpture.

Of very good colour and definition with a shining patina.

8"(20cm) Wide.
