An Unusual 17th Century Bible Box.

West Country Circa 1640

An impressive table box recently acquired from a local country estate where it has been lovingly looked after for the past 40yrs.

The front carved with a single flower with quatrefoil leaves sitting on a single lunette flanking the lockplate also sitting on a single lunette ove a single drawer with applied moulded edge.

In good order with a glass finish surface and glowing patina ,the handles to the drawer have been replaced and it has a few knocks as one would expect ,i feel this would have originally sat on a base as it shows marks to the base where it would have sat.
