A Fine Pair Of 15th Century Roof Angels.

English circa 1480

A rare pair of carved oak angel corbels depicted holding shields ,one with the Tudor rose the other with Three Fleur De Lis both with a crown to the top.

Carved to celebrate the crowning of King Henry VII as King of England and France ,the rose on the crowned shield is used instead of the three lions of England to highlight the start of the Tudor dynasty.

With a dry natural surface and patina.

Similar stone examples can be found at Kings College Cambridge and Henry VII's chapel bearing the rose and fleur de lis under a crown.
