A Rare 16th Century Clamp Front Ark.

English circa 1580

This oak chest is of unusual construction with a joined clamp front and ark back and sides ,a good natural patina .

A similar chest from the same workshop sold as lot number 26 at Sothebys THE PETER GWYNN collection 27/11/2001.
