An Italian Cedar Box With Pyrography.

Recently aquired from an East Sussex estate this Italian cedar wood box is decorated with pyrography ,to the front and sides depicting lute playing cherubs ,the inside with the scene of a battle camp in front of a fortified city and a till with penwork of another lute playing angel.


Northern Italy. Circa 1580/1600.

In good condition with a glowing surface.
