A fine  example of a mid 17th century coffer of transitional form.

The front of joined construction heavily carved to the whole front with carved stiles and rails with S scrolls over three panels with a large central guilloche with swirled design .

The sides and back of single plank construction displaying the transition from boarded plank chest to the later 17th century joined chest.

A good example with exquisite carving and presence.
