A 17th Century Carved Oak Panel.

A rare early 17th century panel for the reason of you very rarely see furniture in a carving and this little chap is sitting on a turned stool.

I like this one it depicts the head of the greenman with scrolled foliage taking up three quarters of the panel and in the bottom right hand corner is a little folky man sitting on a stool butchering a pig placed on a pig bench or he is giving the pig a hair cut as he has a pair of shears in his hand..

A large panel mounted in a door frame ,one to make you smile as it quite folky although the pig does not look to happy.

Dimensions framed are :

19" (49cm)High

16" (41cm)Wide

Good colour and great subject matter...
