A rare Charles I small boarded oak and elm bible box, Welsh Borders.
 
Possibly Monmouthshire Circa 1620.
 
The carcass of oak boarded form, the front board decorated with multiple concentric roundels or 'draughts' all with scribe lines still visible, plain sides on an elm base all constructed from  riven boards, secured with nails..
Original ironwork with a superb colour and patina.
