An 18th Century Country Stool

A lovely West country stool of very good height with a glowing patina and surface.

The Elm slab top with chamfered edges is 2.5" (7cms)thick with three staved oak octangonal legs.

Standing at 17"(43cms) high and 13"(33cms) wide this stool would also work well as a small side table or sculpture stand.

In good condition ,the underside shows old nail hole shaddowing from a previous time when the stool must have been covered and one leg has a nice old blacksmith nail repair at the foot which adds to its country origin.

Recently purchased from an East Sussex collection this stool is a very good example of simple country construction.
