I love these boxes and this is only the third one i have had the opportunity in handling.

In original untouched condition.

Circa 1480-1500 

Constructed from six Field Maple boards nailed together with decorative iron strapping with pinched lockplate retaining all original iron work.

Totally untouched and in amazing condition for its age showing an wonderful colour and patina including the oxidisation stains from the ironwork.

Faint traces of old worm,one side bracket missing and a small loss to the front corners of the base.
