It is with great pleasure that i have the opportunity to offer this rare 15th Century Nottingham Ware pottery jug.

Recently aquired from a West Country collection.

This pottery jug has a green glaze to the top half a lip spout and strap handle terminating in a trefoil thumb print.

Restored 10cms down from the top including half of the handle which is a blessing as most known jugs of this size are fully restored all over.

Standing at 32cms high  and 25cms wide this jug is similar to the example in The British Museum which is also dammaged.

Museum number 1911,0210.1 which stands at 29cms high and was found at a kiln site on the site of Central Station, Nottingham in 1899.
