Recently purchased on a West country buying trip

Carved lime wood figure depicting the Christian saint and martyr St.Sebastian.

French Circa 1550.

Standing at 37" high and 12" wide to the base he displays particularly well.

Of good colour to the front the rear has a dry untouched surface showing traces of original paint.

Image taken outside the grand front door of Binham Grange ,Old Cleeve,Somerset where we had the pleasure of staying for a couple of nights.
