17th Century Carved Oak Bible Box.

Yes i know another bible box,i just can not stop i love bible boxes.

This one has a nice flow to the carving ,a large single tulip head flanking the lock plate which is above a small flower head with the initials A L ,there is also a single A and a small infill opposite where the L would have been, maybe a corrected mistake or a repair from the lockplate you decide.

Plank top ,plain sides and a good colour.

Original hinges and lockplate but a later hasp has been added .
